Stop Judging People And Fully Embrace Your Journey — Rant!

I see so many people involved with fitness and health falling into the trap of judging others based one their workout habits and diet choices.

It's such a limited way of thinking, why would you believe that someone has less value just because they don't do squats, deadlifts, eat clean, track their diet and if they don't train or diet as hard as you.

Why would you believe that you are bringing something more to the world just because you're doing those things?

What makes you higher value than them?

On Social Media, you see this shit all the time. I have a lot of fitness/health enthusiasts on my friends list on Facebook and very often in my News feed a post pops up like “No one in my gym is working out hard, it's just slackers who are looking for an easy way out.” or stuff like “There's this guy with chicken legs in my gym who trains only chest and arms 3 times a week”, comments on photos: “Stop eating that! It's making you fat”, “Eat more healthy bro” and similar.

I mean it's not hard to find judgmental posts when it comes to fitness and nutrition, this is the most infected community when it comes to such poisonous messages.

Funny how everyone is an expert when it comes to someone else's life but almost nobody is handling their problems. I've also fallen into this trap myself from time to time, I would comment on everything, give people advice all the time, and I would feel very good about myself as if I was better than the other person.

It's such a wrong mindset to have, and it leads to a very dark place, I hope you don't fall into it. I find it very sad when I see how many people feed off of this kind of behavior.

People Have Different Goals, Bro!

Realize that everyone has their goals if someone doesn't want big legs, six-pack abs or doesn't feel the need to exercise hard who are you to judge them. It's their choice, respect it and stop thinking about it.

For the majority of people, the gym is just a place to get away from their wife, overly attached girlfriend, exams, debts, work or just an excuse to eat more.

Before You Judge Me

Whatever their reason is it doesn't concern you unless of course they specifically asked you to help them.

It's Your Personal Journey – Embrace it!

My philosophy on this is respect other people's journey and put maximum focus to keep yourself on track.

For you exercise and dieting might be more than just a hobby, it might be a path of self-development, one that leads to becoming the best version of yourself. If this is the case, then I welcome you to the most amazing journey you can ever do, but please realize that the journey is solely yours.

Having mentors and trainers is great, I can train you and help you in many aspects, cut your learning curve by years but I can't come in your head on a daily basis and make decisions for you.I can't put in the effort instead of you, no matter what I do it's still going to be your actions that will lead to results.

I can't put in the effort instead of you, no matter what I do it's still going to be your actions that will lead to results.

As a quote from one of the motivational videos says “No one can judge effort, it's between you and you”. Only you know how much effort you're putting into improving your health. No one can do this for you!

Don't Expect Great Results Without Laser Focus

One other aspect I would like to talk about in this article is the power of focus.

As Tony Robbins says: “Where focus goes, energy flows. And if you don’t take the time to focus on what matters, then you’re living a life of someone else’s design.”

If you spend your days comparing yourself with others on social media, judging other people in the gym, on the street, verbally or in your head, you're accomplishing nothing but clogging up your mental RAM with poisonous thoughts that are diverting focus from true goals.

Stop using up your willpower and mental energy on things that don't move you forward, instead focus on tightening up, making better choices and achieving more for yourself.

The fact is if you value your time on this planet you don't want to be throwing it away on trying to live other people's lives, comparing yourself to other people or thinking you're better than them.

You want to be using your time as efficiently as you can to make the most progress out of it.

Conclusion

The journey of self-improvement through fitness & health is a great one, and I urge you to go All-in on it.

Improving your health has massive benefits on all other aspects of your life, and if you're not focusing on this area eventually, you'll have to pay the price.

Soon you'll realize that there is no end goal to the journey itself, and that small daily victories during the process itself bring you some of the happiest moments.
